How did you first learn about ProMED?
A CDC Colleague Introduced me to ProMED

Please describe a memorable experience you have had with ProMED?
Since my engagement with ProMED I always enjoy spreading the word about ProMED and Epicore by distributing brochures at various conferences locally and Internationally. At one time at a conference one scientist told me told me “ProMED posts are so efficient and useful that I use them in all my lectures”. He added ” ProMED posts deliver information in a timely manner and provide guidance to contain outbreaks “.

What is a fun fact about yourself?
I love food so much. Don’t consider me a “gourmand” but rather a ” gourmet”. I enjoyed steaks in Argentina while at ICID meeting last year, with their large juicy yummy portions and their fine red wine. Will wait to taste Malaysian food in Kuala Lumpur next year…

I used to be a subscriber

Please describe a memorable experience you have had with ProMED?
At the 17th ICID in India, I met colleagues from my country, who were amazed to learn that many of the posts they read were moderated by someone who lived nearby. They told me that, for their jobs, they used ProMED on a daily basis.

What is a fun fact about yourself?
Difficult… I’m a huge soccer fan. I live on the bank of a river. I’m unexplainably fun, so can’t say why…

How did you first learn about ProMED?
My PhD supervisor Professor Geoffrey T. Fosgate

Please describe a memorable experience you have had with ProMED?
I was interviewed to join ProMED during my PhD field study sampling in Kruger National Park in South Africa. My Dutch and Australian friends and colleagues in the students’ camp were very excited that I will be joining an international organization that contributes significantly disease monitoring and surveillance. ProMED is also well respected by my African peers in the veterinary field and our contribution is well appreciated.

What is a fun fact about yourself?
I love soccer to an extent I can travel to watch my team (Manchester United) practice their daily training activity. I do play cards as well, but only for fun, NO Money involved.:)-
